These photographs were taken by Derek Johnson on 25th October 2024 during the opening ceremony of a permanent exhibition on the life of John Smythe. He is buried at St Mary’s church in Thame, Oxfordshire and is being honoured by the Town Council and the Museum. Celebrity chef and businessman Levi Roots was amongst the guests with the RAF and International Bomber Command sending representatives to honour his extraordinary life.
